TWILIGHT (The Saga: NEW MOON, ECLIPSE, BREAKING DAWN) by Stephenie Meyer

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, The Twilight Saga captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires.

Rating

Sex:

Though the author doesn't go into graphic detail with her romance beyond the kissing scenes, there is an overall sensual feel to this series. Very much sexual tension. And other scenes are done tastefully and technically morally but still there is a bit much for teen readers.

Comments: Doing all of these together because really who hasn't read them. I loved these books. I know all the stuff people say about the writing but really I don't care. TWILIGHT was one of the few books that kept me up reading (even though I had a nursing baby). There is just something so provocative about this story. Which is why it's plot has been copied over and over again. It does have some pretty graphic stuff in it and I absolutely wouldn't let my tween read it but I think it speaks deeply to the fools many of us make of ourselves in high school with our crazy hormones and deep emotions. I know it did for me. As a responsible adult though, I do have commentary on Bella and Edward and their control/obsessive personality issues. But everyone has crap to work through. It's not as ugly as so much of recent literature. Basically, this series will always be a favorite of mine and I really don't care what the haters say!
