Aibileen is a black maid in 1962 Jackson, Mississippi, who’s always taken orders quietly, but lately she’s unable to hold her bitterness back. Comments: What an amazing novel this is. So sad and so amazing. I love the people, the tension, the stakes. However it is very upsetting in parts. I would recommend this for any adult interested in this part of American history.
