SKINWALKER by Faith Hunter

Book 1: JANE YELLOWROCK SERIES

Jane Yellowrock is a supernatural skinwalker–one sharing her body with the soul of a mountain lion. When the rogue-vampire hunter is hired to hunt down a particularly nasty vamp, Jane is drawn into the steamy New Orleans vampire society where she learns the ins-and-outs of the “sane” vampire culture, more about her own Cherokee heritage, and we are drawn into a rousing, fast-paced thriller.

Comments: This book has so much yucky stuff in it, but it's all so medium you can push yourself through it and ignore. Which might be more morally damaging than the stuff you cringe at and consequently shut off. Unfortunately I fell for Jane in a big way.I LOVE this book. I flew through it and have read every other Jane Yellowrock story. Jane is the total heroine package. She is amazingly brave and strong yet has her vulnerabilities and they aren't forced. She is so real, yet not (of course). I love the supporting characters and the romances. I love the tension, the passion, the fighting, the changing. Basically everything. This book was super entertaining.
